Electrcal KW to Amps

kW ↔ Amps Calculator

Formulas & Explanation

  • DC: kW = (A × V) / 1000
  • AC Single Phase: kW = (A × V × PF) / 1000
  • AC Three Phase (Line to Line): kW = (√3 × A × V × PF) / 1000
  • AC Three Phase (Line to Neutral): kW = (3 × A × V × PF) / 1000
  • Reverse Calculation: A = kW × 1000 / (V × PF × Phase Factor)

PF = Power Factor, A = Current in Amps, V = Voltage in Volts.

How This Calculator Works

1. Phase Type: Select DC, AC Single Phase, or AC Three Phase system first.
2. Voltage (V): Electrical potential difference supplied.
3. Current (A): Flow of electric charge in the circuit.
4. Power (kW): Actual usable power performing work.
5. Power Factor (PF): Ratio of real power to apparent power; indicates efficiency.
6. Calculations: Enter either Current or Power, select PF, then click Calculate. Swap switches input/output. Clear resets all fields.
