Voltage drop calculator

Voltage Drop Calculator

Formulas & Explanation

  • Single Phase: Vd = 2 × I × L × R / 1000
  • Three Phase: Vd = √3 × I × L × R / 1000
  • Reverse Calculation (Current): I = Vd × 1000 / (2 × L × R) for single phase, I = Vd × 1000 / (√3 × L × R) for three phase

Vd = Voltage Drop (V), I = Current (A), L = Conductor Length (m), R = Conductor Resistance (Ohms/km).

How This Calculator Works

1. Select the Phase Type first.
2. Enter either Current (A) or desired Voltage Drop (V) depending on calculation mode.
3. Enter the Voltage, Conductor Length, and Conductor Resistance.
4. Click Calculate to see the result. Swap allows switching input/output between Current and Voltage Drop.
5. Clear resets all fields.
